Accelerated Aboriginal Cooks of Excellence
(AACE) Program

This Industry led program has been developed in response to both the recognised benefits to business, and the opportunities for Aboriginal jobseekers in building a skilled Aboriginal Hospitality workforce, whilst offering practical solutions to the challenges.


​Through this program, Karen Sheldon Training work intensively with a selection of motivated Aboriginal apprentices chosen from the many applicants who will undergo a rigorous selection process.

Karen Sheldon Training delivers a comprehensive,  training program with practical core skill building, and intensive and stimulating theory training to enable the apprentices to complete their first year of training before being transferred to one of the endorsed employers as a well-rounded second year apprentice.

We are certain the hospitality industry will welcome the opportunity to assist in providing these Aboriginal apprentices with the skills, training and experiences required to work in some of the Territory’s finest dining establishments. The longer-term aim is for Indigenous chefs to be a major force in the restaurant industry.

NOTE: We are currently not accepting new applications for AACE Apprenticeships at this time.
