Employability skills

training (EST)

Karen Sheldon Training is a registered provider for Employability Skills Training (EST) and we deliver our trademark jobQEST program to participants in both Darwin and Alice Springs.

This 3-Week course, running Monday to Thursdays, is an intensive skills training course to help prepare and develop the necessary skills to efficiently find a job, and confidently keep it.

We look at resume writing techniques and practice interview skills, as well as the values, behaviors and skills expected by employers in the workplace. Whilst developing your soft skills we look at (but not limited to):

  • Self-Management and benchmarking

  • Planning and Organisation

  • Continuous learning in the workplace

  • Taking initiative and enterprise

  • Problem Solving ability

  • Teamwork and communication

  • Technology, and working in a digital world.

At Karen Sheldon Training we tailor our courses to industry specific pathways, and currently offer EST courses for Retail, Hospitality, Customer Service, and Human Services, with plans to expand this list to other industry focused courses throughout the year.

We deliver our courses face-to-face in simulated work environments, and combine theory, group discussions, role play, games and activities, revolving around a mixture of soft skills and nationally accredited units, so you can also complete the course with qualifications specific to your chosen industry. We also offer an online platform for EST theory exercises, blended with zoom group discussions and online accredited until platform.
