Tania Smith

Trainer and Assessor

Tania started in hospitality in 1988 whilst still at school, and spent many years traveling within the NT maturing her passion for high-quality hospitality service. Now a Hospitality and Tourism Trainer within the Karen Sheldon Group since 1999, she trains students in Kitchen Operations, Hospitality, Tour guiding and VET in Schools Students. She has worked within the Karen Sheldon Group in many different hospitality and kitchen roles for over 15 years and has extensive experience.

Tania Smith started her training career on the Tiwi Islands back in 2009, living at the Tiwi Islands Adventure Fishing Lodge and working at other various remote vacation destinations, tour guiding. She saw a need for local indigenous hospitality/tourism workers rather than backpackers. This led her to develop and design tailored training packages within the hospitality and tourism sector. Tania’s qualifications include Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, Certificate III in Guiding, Certificate II in Tourism, Certificate III in Hospitality, and Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
